Fantastic Part-Time Job Opportunity!

Be an Umpire for Softball this Summer!

Local Ontario Softball Umpire Training Clinics hosted in Newmarket have just been announced.

For first time umpires (for those born in 2009 or earlier) the Junior Umpire Training clinic will be taking place Sunday March 20th from 9am -1pm. What a great first job to have on your resume!

To register: https://softballontario.ca/umpire/ and scroll to the bottom section to register.

For any of our returning umpires looking to solidify their skills – the Level 1 Umpire Training clinic is March 26th at 9am for a full day including some on the field training. Several umpires last year made over 600$ a week working evenings and tournaments on weekends. Not your average minimum wage part time job! Great job if you are taking summer school this year. I know so many of our umps are ready for this. You’ve got the talent and the skills – now get the certification and the pay cheque.

Included with completion of the clinics will be your insurance for the year.

Previously training umpires cannot work this summer without the insurance. We are trying to see if there will be an Intermediate Clinic offered locally but do not have any information at this time. The Level 1 clinic is a great opportunity for you.

If these dates don’t work, you can follow this website for future clinics hosted across the province. At this time, these will be the clinics offered closest to home by a York North Loop partner.

Cost – 60$ for the Junior program and 85$ for the Level 1. These include food and drinks.

We are looking at ways to reimburse you for your training costs with your first pay cheque.

This opportunity is open to all genders and NO softball playing experience is required. Please spread the word to all interested in working a cool job this summer.

Any further questions or for more information – please contact me at umpires@rhmsa.ca
