Thank you to the parents, coaches and kids who braved the cold and marched in the 2018 Richmond Hill Santa Claus Parade! We had a nice turn out and both kids and parents proudly represented RHMSA during the 4km walk. We would like to give special thanks to Monica Cheung for organizing the event, Melissa Tzimas for bringing extra decorations, Grant DJ Taylor for the Christmas music boombox and the Softball players who all helped with decorations and rockin’ around our Christmas Tree!

We were very fortunate to have so many amazing coaches this year. However, one individual certainly stood out – the always positive and encouraging Coach John Heiydt. John has coached RHMSA House League teams for 6 years. Along with his partner in crime, Samantha Heiydt, they created another fun and positive environment for the U12 girls and, in return, Coach John received many compliments from parents and players alike. Congratulations and thank you, Coach John, for your dedication to RHMSA and your teams over the years. It is volunteers like you that make a huge difference in the kiddos’ experience with RHMSA softball. The league is honoured to have you on our team!

“The camaraderie of his/hers teammates.”

“Coach Michael Bonello was very instrumental in helping my daughter feel comfortable in the game as it was her first time trying it. He is very good at coaching them new skills at their level without pushing them too much. Just the right combination of encouragement and respect for their learning levels.”

“She loves playing as a group and had a lot of fun as she has had for the past 3 years.”

“She really enjoyed his first year in softball and the encouraging atmosphere created by the team and parents.”

“Playing together as a team and not being left out.”

Coach John Heiydt made the season fantastic for the girls. He was very supportive, understanding, motivational, and encouraged the girls to always do their best! We are going to miss having him as a coach next season as both my girls will still be in U12 and he’s moving up to U14. Thank you Coach John for all your dedication to our team…it’s volunteers like you that make a big difference in the kids experience with a sport…thank you for the positive impact you had on them!

“Everything!!!”

As our softball season comes to a close, on behalf of Richmond Hill Minor Softball Association, we would like to sincerely thank you for all your support and commitment in making time so that your children could attend the weekly practices and games. We understand it’s not easy juggling work and family commitments and we greatly appreciate your efforts in finding a happy balance.

Again, our focus this season was on promoting sportsmanship, friendship as well as developing the players’ skills, knowledge of the game, its rules, and most importantly, having fun in a safe and positive environment. We hope that we have accomplished this and that you and your children look forward to returning next season to Richmond Hill Rebels Softball!

Sincerely,
RHMSA
